DeFelsko Soluble Salt Tester PosiTector SST is optimized to measure the level of salinity or water-soluble salts and corrosion products on blast-cleaned steel and other ferrous surface. The all in one Soluble Salt Tester PosiTector SST kit is the only solution in the market which are using the integrated measurement with data records and data connectivity. Engineered with direct data processing by PosiTector body, you can save time and ensure the acceptable parameter of salt adhesion on steel surface of a workpiece without the need for calculator and mathematical prowess. DeFelsko Positector SST provide simpler and efficient approach which are suitable for prior treatment of electro coating. material quality testing and painting in closed environment.
As workpiece of steel structure material were exposed by climate and natural circumstances, the metallurgic properties of its surface change in time and creates bubles of rust and oxidation on any coating. Such natural cause make the Bresle method become the primary test method for soluble salts to meet the ISO 8502-6 and ISO 8502-9 standards. The test itself should be prepared prior to blasting cleaning and coating to meet not only ISO, but also the US Navy, IMO, NAVSEA, and ASTM standard. To put it simply, the salinity is measured in parts per thousand (ppt or ). For instance; the average ocean salinity is 35ppt while the average river water salinity is 0.5ppt or less, which means that in every kilogram (1000 grams) of seawater, 35 grams are salt.
Compared to conventional Bresle kit which are using disposable rubber tape, the clever Positector SST is further optimized by the PosiPatch kit which magnetically attach the water patch on ferrous surface for repetitive use. To get the reading, you simply collect the water from the PosiPatch and insert the water into the sensor cartridge by using the provided syringe. Furthermore, you can also print directly via additional WIFI dongles or Bluetooth (PosiTector Advance body).
