High-Performance Solid Carbide End Mills • Roughing/Finishing

Widia Modular End Mills DUO-λOCK® VariMill 4X47 Series are devised for High-Performance application on Roughing/Finishing application. The highly economical replaceable tip system includes a range of helix and cutting geometries, an asymmetrical flute design, and wear-resistant AlTiN coatings for use in titanium and nickel-based superalloys which include the WIDIA brand VariMill III, a 7-flute center-cutting end mill with a 38° helix for high-feed machining of titanium and nickel-based superalloys, and the VariMill I, with a conical core and asymmetrical 4-flute design that eliminates chatter inextreme roughing and deep slotting applications. Both are available in WIDIA’s Victory WS15PE and WP15PE AlTiN-coated grades, known throughout the industry for superior wear and heat-resistance.

The DUO-LOCK connection from Widia and Haimer™ are optimized for versatile use on high-performance milling such as working with solids for square end slotting, shoulder milling with square end, also creating ramp on blank workpiece with a single tool. You can predictably take full-width slotting cuts in stainless steel alloys at 1xD deep, and 50% cut widths at 1.5xD. Engineered with double-taper, face-contact mount and intelligent thread design, you can have a runout accuracy better than 5µm (.0002"), axial repeatability of 10µm (.0004"), and up to 25% higher torque and chip load capabilities than comparable brands in the market.

Widia's solid carbide endmill allow you to work on a wide range of materials on CNC milling, Machining centers and Chuckers. You can work efficiently as roughing and finishing operations can now be done thoroughly without the downtime of exchanging the tools. Furthermore, a variety of integral shank taper, lobed, and HSK-style toolholders, as well as straight shank cut to size adapters 10mm - 32mm (0.39" - 1.25") in diameter are also available with Haimer™ Safe-Lock® anti-pullout technology.

The Widia Modular End Mills DUO-λOCK® Series are highly favorable in Aerospace, energy, and transportation manufacturers looking to incorporate advanced, lightweight materials which currently using the Weldon type holder. Mass production engineering such as vehicle manufacturing can also benefits from this applications as DUO-λOCK® also support the fully automated tool changing cartridge system.
